Feb. 27th, 2021 10:38 pmShort post just to say I’m going to do a dopamine detox tomorrow. I am choosing not to participate in negative behaviors that give me a dopamine burst. For example, no tv, no phone, no social media, no binge eating (several other things are also blacklisted for tomorrow). I’m writing this here so I can update you guys afterward about how successful I was. I’ve tried it the past few days with moderate success, but I want to really go for it and use my time productively.
Edit: the detox went ok, but I failed to wake up on time and overate. I downloaded an aggressive alarm clock that makes me walk around before it will turn off, and that actually worked today, as I got up on time for the first time in weeks. I also downloaded a calorie counter so I can keep track of my calories, and hopefully that will discourage the overeating. Other than that, my detox is going well and I plan to continue it! My social media usage is down by 85% since last week!
